Product Description
Teflon PTFE DISP 30 Fluoropolymer Dispersion
TEFLON ® PTFE by DuPont (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is known for its exceptional resistance to high
temperatures and chemical, corrosion, and stress crack resistance. DuPont offers a wide variety of
fluoropolymer resins processible by various means, all of which offer high dielectric strength, a low dielectric
constant, low loss factors, and extremely high specific resistance. These fluoropolymer resins surpass most
materials in their level and stability of dielectric properties over a broad range of environmental conditions.
The mechanical toughness, electrical, and low-friction properties of Teflon® make it the preferred plastic
for a host of applications and different processing techniques. There are several variations available to suit
multiple applications:
Dispersion – DuPont Teflon® PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) aqueous dispersions are milky white dispersions
of PTFE particles in water, stabilized by wetting agents. They can be further formulated to meet specific
needs by adding other solid or liquid ingredients. These aqueous dispersions offer a practical method for
PTFE coating or impregnating, using a resin that does not respond to traditional solvent or melt-processing
techniques.
DISP 30 aqueous dispersion provides:
- Inertness to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents
- Stability at high temperatures
- Excellent dielectric properties
- Lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material
- Excellent weatherability
- Non-stick characteristics
Typical Applications Include:
- Coated woven fiber-glass fabric used in architectural, high-performance industrial, food processing and electronics applications
- Impregnated packing made from braided fibers for severe chemical and thermal service
- Cast film for capacitor dielectrics or chemical barriers
- Surface coatings for metallic or other high-temperature substrates
- Anti-drip additive for plastics
- Binder for battery anode or cathode matrices
